Dear
Patriots,
Mike
from Wright Patterson, OH is this week's history
challenge winner (a three time winner)!
Stephen Decatur was the correct answer. Many answered William
Eaton, who was sent ashore and led an expedition across the desert to
organize locals who detested the pasha which played an important role in
threatening the pirates lucrative slave trade, however he was not the
one who led the operation to recapture the Philadelphia.

give him and his leaders wisdom as they have to make tough decisions
quickly.

"My views... are the result of a
life of inquiry and reflection, and very different from the
anti-christian system imputed to me by those who know
nothing of my opinions. To the corruptions of Christianity I
am, indeed, opposed; but not to the genuine precepts of
Jesus himself. I am a Christian in the only sense in which
he wished any one to be; sincerely attached to his doctrines
in preference to all others.."
- Thomas Jefferson in a
letter to Dr. Benjamin Rush in 1803
