No question this week; just enter your name for a chance to win! If you want too; you can add “What Christmas means to you and your family” in the answer box and I’ll post a few of them this week (anonymous).

Luke 2: 9-14 (NASB) And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them (the shepherds), and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. “This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.”

This week’s prize is Judge Napolitano’s new book “It Is Dangerous to Be Right When the Government Is Wrong: The Case for Personal Freedom”

Because of the opposition to the adoption of the Constituiton by the anti-Federalists, several states proposed amending the document to better protect the states, as well as individuals, from the incursions of the centralized federal government. Thus these ten new planks were drafted, dedated, and eventually adopted. They became the first ten amendements to the Constitution and was ratified on December 15th, 1791. Match the following amendments below and submit your information to be entered into the drawing. For club members, be sure add 2 bonus points to your tally sheet.

Abraham Lincoln’s address at the dedication on November 19th, 1863 has come to be regarded as one of the greatest speeches in American history. His opening words invoked the principles of human equality espoused by the Declaration of Independence and defined the Civil War as “a new birth of freedom” that would bring true equality to all of its citizens. -- The American Patriot’s Bible

Abraham Lincoln on November 19th, 1863

Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth, upon this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived, and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met here on a great battlefield of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of it as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

But in a larger sense we can not dedicate -- we can not consecrate -- we can not hallow this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled, here, have consecrated it far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember, what we say here, but can never forget what they did here.

It is for us, the living, rather to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they have, thus far, so nobly carried on. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us -- that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they here gave the last full measure of devotion -- that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain; that this nation shall have a new birth of freedom; and that this government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.

“Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You for our veterans. I thank You for their willingness to risk all so that our nation might dwell in peace and safety. May they find the honor and recognition they deserve. In the name of Your divine Son, I pray that You will heal the physical and psychological wounds some of these veterans have suffered. Bring peace to those who mourn the loss of comrades. Father I pray that our nation would learn to respect and acknowledge those who have served their country well.” – Pray for Our Nation
